‘One cannot not communicate,’ as the Carinthian philosopher Paul Watzlawick already knew. But what you can do is communicate wrongly. This happens particularly often in families. Often there is a lack of mutual understanding for the other generation, the current phases of life and developments. As a family therapist, I help you in my psychotherapy practices with my pronounced interpersonal understanding and sharpened empathy to work through, identify and name your conflicts, as well as to create more space and understanding in your relationships with each other. The feeling of safety is also an important factor in trauma therapy. Trauma therapy is a type of treatment that focuses on processing and coping with traumas. Traumas arise from traumatic events such as rape, war, natural disasters or the sudden loss of a loved one. People who have experienced trauma can suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which can manifest itself in symptoms such as anxiety, depression, sleep disorders and flashbacks.
