Sailing Tours Around Cala d'Or, Mallorca

Our group of six people had a great time with Nigel on the Vita Bel Yacht Charter. Nigel and Juan were courteous and professional and offered us a very enjoyable day on the water. The food and drink we had were top notch and there was fun had by all. I would highly recommend Vita Bel as a great option for chartering a boat while in Mallorca.

We had the best day of our trip on the Vita Bel! Nigel and Juan went above and beyond to give us such a fun and special day. The boat was very spacious and clean. The food they served for lunch was so good and features great local Spanish cuisine. They made sure we got to stop several times in various coves for a swim and paddle boarding, but also made sure we had plenty of timing for actual sailing on the open water. I highly recommend using Vita Bel for a day charter while in Cala D’Or!

Vita Bel remains the best run and fun experience on the Island. We've returned year after year because it gives us a great day out. This time we chose an evening cruise and it was exactly as described. The atmosphere, the experience and the food was second to none. I just don't know how Nigel manages to produce such an excellent meal from a small galley! Highly recommended.

Disclaimer: I felt compelled to elaborate on my 1-star rating, especially after Vita Bel's response. Let's set the record straight: my dissatisfaction isn't rooted in seasickness or my swimming capabilities. Having traveled to over 20 countries and experienced multiple yacht trips, I had a certain expectation from Vita Bel which, sadly, wasn't met.

Limited Space & Comfort: While I anticipated a leisurely/relaxing, expansive yacht experience, the reality was different. The yacht was noticeably small, feeling congested with just 8 passengers. This limited space didn't provide the peace or relaxation I sought. Instead, it felt restrictive, with difficulty moving around due to both the yacht's size and the high turbulence on the yacht.

Misleading Open Bar Claims: Vita Bel's brochure promised an open bar. Instead, drinks were fetched by staff from below deck, a stark contrast to the open bar experience I had envisioned & experienced before. Worse, they quickly ran out of staples like Coca-Cola, which shouldn't happen with a group our size.

Concerns about Turbulence: The first half of the trip had significant turbulence, contributing to my seasickness. The motor-driven second half reduced these issues. One can't help but wonder if they initially refrained from using the motor to save on fuel costs.

Customer Service Shortcomings: Interaction with the crew, especially the captain, felt a bit not very hospitable. Repeated requests to move around, combined with certain seating restrictions, came off as more commanding than courteous. When I battled seasickness, I didn't perceive any genuine concern or attempts to enhance my comfort.

Conclusion: For the steep price of EUR 145/person (paid EUR 290 for 2 people), coupled with Vita Bel's glowing reviews, I expected a premium experience. Unfortunately, I walked away feeling drained, unsatisfied and underwhelmed. It's crucial for potential customers to discern the reality from the gloss of online ratings.

While Vita Bel claims to value feedback, their defensive responses suggest otherwise. I recommend they take a more receptive approach to all reviews, without lengthy justifications, showing a genuine commitment for improvement.

Can't recommend Nigel and the Vita Bel Charter enough! I took my parents on a surprise trip for the sunset and travelled all the way across from Palmanova for this trip, based on the previous reviews. I can honestly say it didn't disappoint and even surpassed expectations. The food was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection and the attentiveness overall was brilliant. Nigel and Fedro made the perfect team and always had our drinks topped up! It truly is a 'must do' - special shout out to Sonia too who made the whole organisation process (including some of my last minute changes!) an absolute breeze. We hope to be back!

Nigel and his team were fantastic. Clear communicator and excellent navigator on and off sea.

The ship is beautiful, and crewed safely. The dinner was amazing. Great views, beautiful sailing day! We loved it. We were glad we brought rain coats, because it really dumped at the end, but that was an adventure too. Nigel was a great host. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous trip on Vita Bel last week. Juan and Fedro took excellent care of everyone, particularly when some were unfortunately seasick.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch anchored in a small picturesque bay, and our drinks were kept topped up all day!

We had a wonderful experience sailing on Vita Bel II. Nigel and Fedro provided a fantastic service and experience. The food was delicious and plentiful and they provided lots to keep the kids entertained in the sea.

We had the most amazing day on this beautiful yacht. Nigel was the perfect host and lunch on board was truly delicious and plentiful. Our cruise sailed into beautiful coves, and we swam in amazing clear waters.
